Many virtual teams in today’s organizations consist of employees both working at home and small groups in the office and can be in different geographic locations.
Analyzing user needs and requirements on projects within large organizations can be made easier by working within a team.
It has been proven that virtual teams are an opportunity for efficiency and team synergy which is unrealized in more traditional teams and worker interaction.

Judy Shandler, M.Ed., Dipl. T.
Business Analyst
British Columbia Institute of Technology
Judy Shandler is a Business Analyst in the Information Technology Services at British Columbia Institute of Technology. In this position, she is mainly concerned with linking client needs to IT business solutions. Judy builds relationships within the IT Services and the BCIT community in order to best assess current systems and processes. By identifying and translating client’s business needs, it becomes possible to analyze and document requirements that may already be:
• a service documented in our Service Catalog
• a new requirement needing a Service Level Agreement negotiated
• a new initiative requiring a project plan
Before joining the IT Services department, Judy taught for 15 years in Computer Aided Design, manual Architectural Drawing and Coordinated an Employment Access Program for individuals wanting to move back into the work force. It is this experience and her educational background which allows her to understand the complexities involved in the strategic workings within a Post Secondary Institution.
Judy is a certified Business Analyst, has an IT diploma as well as a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. |
