W1-103 - For Project Team Members Only!

Date: Monday, April 14 - 8:30am – 4:30pm

Description

Are you or your team members asked to:

·         Estimate task duration or cost?

·         Deal with project uncertainty?

·         Reduce well-considered estimates in order to meet an imposed deadline?

These are just some of the issues project team members typically face on a regular basis.

For Project Team Members Only! is a workshop focused specifically on the issues and responsibilities project team members (not project managers) face when involved in a project. The course helps team members facilitate a greater overall degree of projects success, while at the same time creating a less stressful and more rewarding experience for themselves.

Learning Objectives

Provide realistic estimates, and deal with pressure to reduce them

Use contingency effectively to make up for the lack of a crystal ball

Organize your time more effectively and avoid burn-out when working on a project

Skill Level: Everyone

Courses are deliberately interactive and encourage participants to challenge the theories presented in order to make project management useful in their own environment. When customizing materials, Paul draws upon examples and case studies relevant to the client's industry. The courses and seminars use terminology and processes consistent with the framework of knowledge of the Project Management Institute.

Paul holds an engineering degree from University of Toronto and has been a Professional Engineer since 1985. He has been designated by PMI as a Project Management Professional since 1992. Paul has written papers and spoken on the topic of project management at conferences for organizations including the American Society for Quality Control, governments, the Project Management Institute and the Toronto Project Management Symposia.
