Description Speaker(s)

Communication in the modern world is rife with ambiguity characterized by thinking that goes like this "I kind of know what I kind of mean". What this really means is; "I don’t clearly understand what I’m talking about!" When this type of thinking creeps into requirements (and it does), the costs mount until the mystery is discovered and removed. The first tool of a BA is words. The first duty of a BA is to use words with exacting precision; like scalpels – instruments that cut very finely. The focus of this workshop is to examine how the use of words can clarify or mystify, and provides a set of techniques for ensuring that statements are unambiguous.
