On today's projects, time is the dominant priority. Project Managers need techniques for quickly and accurately assessing schedule performance. While Earned Value works well to measure cost performance, it breaks down on schedule performance. A recent theoretical breakthrough, called Earned Schedule, corrects the problem. Practical application of the theory enables us to quantitatively assess and predict schedule performance on our projects.

Robert is an experienced Project Manager with a significant track record completing projects on time and on budget. He has delivered projects for TDWaterhouse, BMO NesbittBurns, the Canadian Depository for Securities, and Rogers Communications.

Early in his career, Robert managed several projects at Imperial Oil, where he developed an interest in Rapid Application Development (RAD) and other time-based project management techniques. Most recently, Robert has been the Technology Lead on the Wait Times Information System (WTIS) project. The WTIS captures wait time information for all areas of care for both adults and paediatric patients in Ontario.

Robert’s professional accomplishments include an ITX nomination and CIPA awards. He has spoken on a variety of topics, including RAD, Straight through Processing, and prevention of identity theft. His articles have appeared in the Journal of Systems Management , People and Information , and PMWorldToday.

Robert holds a PhD from the University of Toronto, a PMP, and a Black Belt in MS Project. His current research interests include techniques for managing time-driven projects, automation of project status analysis and reporting, and the use of advanced features in MS Project.
